Peace, I’m Michelle
Mother of Twins, lover of dance & firecracker!
Michelle is a Dorchester resident, and a community pioneer with 18+ years of dance & fitness experience. After becoming a mom of twins at 16 years-old, Life as she knew it, had other plans. This became a major deterrent in her dreams of leaving home and experiencing college life. However, amid life's challenges, dance became her anchor and saving grace. Making history as the first American International Dancehall Queen, she began a passion-driven commitment to making a positive impact in the city of Boston through dance. With a focus on emotional well-being through movement, and as the founder of SoulFire Movement, Michelle aims to uplift, motivate, and energize groups, individuals, and organizations interested in using dance to connect with themselves and others.

About SoulFire mvmt
Established in 2020 amid the pandemic, SoulFire
Movement originated in the confines of Michelle's
backyard. In response to the widespread physical,
mental, and financial challenges experienced by
many, the initiative aimed to reinstate a sense of
community, safely during this transformative
period. Recognizing the personal need for dance
and the absence of social connections, the
decision to launch SoulFire Movement emerged as
a natural response. Since launching SoulFire Movement has obtained $30,000 in grant
funding from sponsors such as New England Foundation of the Arts (NEFA) to produce
programming in collaboration with local artists,
wellness facilitators and non-profit organizations
in the community.

what you can expect
You can expect my magnetic spirit, passion, and commitment. My hope is that I will vibe with your organization's values. Expect a creative, goal-oriented professional with a natural skill set for people to people connection.
As someone who has experienced many disparities in life such as the challenges of being a young single mom, homelessness, depression and downright nihilism, I understand my purpose. Harnessing this purpose not only aids in personal healing from trauma but also allows for the opportunity to inspire and support others. I give much gratitude to my daughters and movement. Cheers to building purposeful relationships.
